About Japan Fashion

Japan is an archipelago, or string of islands, on the eastern edge of Asia. There are four main islands: Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. There are also nearly 4,000 smaller islands! Japan's nearest mainland neighbors are the Siberian region of Russia in the north and Korea and China farther south. The culture of Japan has changed greatly over the millennia, from the country's prehistoric Jōmon period, to its contemporary modern culture, which absorbs influences from Asia and other regions of the world. Harmony, order, and self-development are three of the most important values that underlie Japanese social interaction.

Basic ideas about self and the nature of human society are drawn from several religious and philosophical traditions. The eight regions of Japan are Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu (which includes the prefecture of Okinawa). A single person may have up to three influences among the seven universal styles, such as elegant, modern and classic, creative, sexy and modern, romantic, classic and creative, and so on.
